Hi Michael and Bernard

  I will try OSCAR 4.2.1.

After tftp time out, the node start the previous OS, which is Debian. We are
moving to SL + OSCAR.

I am trying to figure out a work around in another machine, an IBM x226, also
with SL 4.1. The sympton is the same, so the problem is with SL (or Red Hat).
In special I think is with /etc/pam.d/sshd. There is a module: pam_rootok.so,
to allow the root login without password. But on the other hand, everything
should work fine if I use "UsePAM no" at /etc/ssh/sshd_config. Am I right? Or
not?

  Thanks

Marcelo M. Garcia
