Hi.
The two computers are connected via a private switch. I assigned the
IP number 192.168.0.1 to the network card in the server node which
also acts as a DHCP server. The client computer was assigned the
number 192.168.0.2 by the DHCP server. Anyway, it seems that some
basic communication between tho computers is established.
Regarding the "Setup Network Boot", I clicked on it after I collected
the MAC address.

Did you click on the "Setup Network Boot" button in the "Setup
Networking" window (it is toward the bottom under "Boot
Environment") before trying to collect mac addresses?

installation would erase windows XP in the client and install
