I am attempting to install on PE1955 and had a slightly different
problem.  I got much further when I tried using the "Use Your Own
Kernel" functionality.

Go back to the "Setup Networking" step and click on the checkbox that
says "UYOK" and then click on "Setup Network Boot" again.  That should
restart things such that you use the kernel from the headnode.

I haven't gotten much further, but I did get the nodes to "image" by
doing this.  They had a kernel panic when they rebooted, but they did
successfully image...

I am trying to use the latest systemimager from trunk but trunk as a
whole seems to be unstable at the moment, so I will have to do
something more invasive than I wanted to and just pull out the SIS rpm
and drop that back in the 5.0 code or something.
