We had a similar problem (but had different headnode OS) and copying the modprobe.conf file for the nodes into the image's /etc/ directory allowed us to boot up. If your headnode is the same as the compute nodes, you can probably just copy /etc/modprobe.conf (from headnode) to the image directory (something like /var/lib/systemimager/images/<image_name>/etc/ ). Then repeat the imaging procedure.
Hopefully this helps.

Hello,
I am trying to use OSCAR-5.0 with CentOS 4.6 x86-64 on 9 node (1 master + 8 client) Dell Precision T3400 w/ Intel Core 2 Duo. The machines has SATA drives.

I use UYOK to install the client node as suggested in other thread here. The client seems to install the image just fine, but after reboot, it gets Kernel Panic, with messages like:

mount: error 2 mount ext3
mount: error 6 mount none
switchroot: mount failed: 22
Kernel panic âEUR" not syncing: Attempted to kill init!

(These are from my memory as I'm not sure how to get the actual messages, and I'm not in front of the cluster right now).

I tried booting with rescue CD and checked grub.conf, /etc/fstab, and the partitions on the client node and they seem to be okay. I also tried using the modprobe.conf from the master node, and it didn't help either. I searched w/ Google but haven't came up with anything helpful.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
