our X7DWT-INF boards (with SIMSO+) have a BIOS/hardware bug which means that we need e1000 driver version >= 7.6.15.4 before they will reboot reliably. the symptoms look to be similar to yours - the PXE server sees the requests from the node and replies, but the node never recognises the replies and so never gets any further. the problem goes away if the SIMSO+ (BMC management card) is removed from the system, or can be worked-around if you never 'reboot' or 'shutdown' Linux, but instead always IPMI reset or on/off the board. also unplugging the power from the board lets it PXE boot correctly the time after that. hope that helps. cheers, robin ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
