ok, can you try a couple things here -- can you see if you can get an
interactive qsub to work (qsub -I) -- if it works, it will bounce you out to a
node where you can run commands from the shell.

second, can you increase the mom's log level? i believe the logevent line is
in /var/spool/pbs/mom_priv/config -- if you increase this to 255 and restart
the pbs_mom, try to run another job and see if you get more output in the log
from the failure.

Hello again
I checked node8 as you adviced and this is what I've found:

# cat /var/spool/pbs/mom_logs/20090707 | grep "07/07/2009 17:"
07/07/2009 17:42:34;0001;   pbs_mom;Job;TMomFinalizeJob3;job not
started, Failure job exec failure, after files staged, no retry
07/07/2009 17:42:34;0001;
pbs_mom;Job;178.tornado.soe.cranfield.ac.uk;ALERT:  job failed phase 3
start, server will retry
07/07/2009 17:42:34;0008;   pbs_mom;Req;send_sisters;sending ABORT to sisters

however I do not know what to do with it. :/

p.s. OSCAR version is as I already written 4.2

Thank you for helping me
Regards
