Dear friends at Oscar:

I am having problems installing OSCAR. I am have no experience in
installing this software.

First of all I'd like to know how to make specific questions about the
installation of the problem. Where can I send my questions.

I am using Fedora core 9. I note that there are several aspects of
the documentation that seems not to be updated.

For example, Fedora distributions are not listed in the Oscar
Documentation on the supported distirbutions. However, in other
sections of the documentions, some Fedora distributions are cited.

I used fedora 9 as a repo for this distribution is cited in the
documentation:

http://bison.csm.ornl.gov/repos/fc-9-i386/

But some software is not available there as yume,

but it can be found here:

http://bison.csm.ornl.gov/repos/unstable/fc-9-i386/

From this site oscar can be installed, and configured for the Fedora
9 distro.

However when the command for bootstrap is executed:

oscar-config --bootstrap

several errors are showns.

The first one is related to the package python-elementtre. Which,
however, can be installed from rpms in Fedora 9.

When the script is executed again, after installing elementtree other
message occur:

ERROR: Impossible to detect the format of the
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/9/Everything/i386/os/

repository at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/OSCAR/Bootstrap.pm
line 483

is it possible to Fix this error?

I don't have access to Linux Red Hat Enterprise. So I want to install
the software in a Fedora distribution as is the system in which I have
more experience. However there is not sufficient support and update
for old Fedora distributions as the Fedora 8, but it want to know if
is possible to install the software in newer distributions.

Thank you

Alfonso.
