First of all, if you are new to OSCAR, I strongly recommend you use Fedora
or RHEL instead of SUSE!

and then, just follow these steps one by one and inform us if any error
occurred! (with full log and the step number)

(from:
http://www.sfr-fresh.com/unix/privat/oscar-base-5.1rc1.tar.gz:a/oscar-5.1rc1/README
)

   17 A very basic HOWTO:   18 -------------------   19 1) download
the repo tarballs you are interested in from 20
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/oscar/   21 For example:   22
oscar-repo-common-rpms-5.1.tar.gz   23
oscar-repo-rhel-5-x86_64-5.1.tar.gz   24    25 2) unpack the tarballs:
  26 mkdir -p /tftpboot/oscar   27 tar xzfC
oscar-repo-common-rpms-*.tar.gz /tftpboot/oscar/   28 tar xzfC
oscar-repo-rhel-5-x86_64-*.tar.gz /tftpboot/oscar/   29    30 3)
install yume (supposing yum is already there): 31 yum install
createrepo /tftpboot/oscar/common-rpms/yume*.rpm    32    33 4) set up
the distro repository in /tftpboot/distro/... Look at 34
http://svn.oscar.openclustergroup.org/trac/oscar/wiki/InstallGuidePreparing#DistributionRepositories
  35 for instructions.   36    37 5) install oscar-base rpm   38 yume
--repo /tftpboot/oscar/common-rpms install oscar-base*   39    40 6)
start installation, for example: 41 cd /opt/oscar 42 env
OSCAR_VERBOSE=3 ./install_cluster ETH_INTERFACE    43  (ETH_INTERFACE
is the cluster internal interface on the head node, 44 e.g. eth0).

p.s. Now you have yum installed, so just give it a try ;)

Sincerely yours,
Siavash Ghiasvand
