I've been writing about my installation problems for a couple of weeks. I thought I would try a new message subject; maybe it will revive interest in my woes.
I think I fixed my early network problems, as I wrote yesterday, but there is some sort of System Imager problem. I can't tell what type of problem it is. On the console it says, "Your autoinstall has failed. You can use the shell prompt to try and see what happened." This is followed by a whole page of advice, so that the actual error message scrolls off the top. The shell prompt is not available. The alt-f1 and other keys don't do anything. It's frustrating. I thought I might be able to capture the error message by sending the boot messages out a serial port. The AMI BIOS has a feature called "Remote Access" which allows this. It works up through the TFTP download. After the downloaded kernel begins to boot, nothing else comes out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Palm PDK Hot Apps Program offers developers who use the Plug-In Development Kit to bring their C/C++ apps to Palm for a share of $1 Million in cash or HP Products.
