Hi I tried to install my 5 SunFire x4000 with oscar / CentOS 5. The first time I installed Oscar on the same 5 machines everything worked fine, in a second try all 4 slaves are hanging with the following error (after they got successfully imaged):
---- Creating root device. mkrootdev: expected fs options Mounting root filesystem. mount: missing mount point Setting up other filesystems. usb 1-1: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2 setting up new root fs setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory no fstab.sys, mounting internal defaults setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory Switching to new root and running init. unmounting old /dev unmounting old /proc unmounting /sys switchroot: mount failed: No such file or directory Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! --- In my first try I could solve this problem by booting the kernel with the option "enforcing=0", but not this time. Software or kernel were the same version in both tries. I tried the following three disk-layouts without success: 1) --- /dev/sda1 * ext3 / defaults bootable /dev/shm - tmpfs /dev/shm defaults nfs_oscar:/home - nfs /home rw --- 2) --- /dev/hda1 * ext3 / defaults bootable /dev/shm - tmpfs /dev/shm defaults nfs_oscar:/home - nfs /home rw --- 3) --- /dev/hda1 100 ext3 /boot defaults bootable /dev/hda5 512 swap /dev/hda6 * ext3 / defaults /dev/shm - tmpfs /dev/shm defaults nfs_oscar:/home - nfs /home rw --- None of them worked... (1 worked the first time) All steps from the installation before worked properly. Probably I missed some changes this time, which I did last time without recognizing it...
