hi,

Sorry for late answer.

Normaly, blcr should work for rhel-6 rhel-6, fc-19 and fc-20 at least. if it
doesn't load, there is a problem.
if you used to install it in the past, there was a time in the testing tree
where the blcr package was bad and later updates fails to rebuild dkms module
when kernel is updated.

Please try the following commands to see if it fixes the problem:

rpm -e --nodeps blcr-module
yum install blcr-dkms
yum reinstall blcr blcr-libs blcr-dkms

(it may takes some time to complete as blcr-dkms will rebuilt the kernel
modules for all installed kernels)

Torque and openmpi are built with blcr support in oscar. I don't know if there
is a way to disable the feature at runtime. I don't know if there is a way to
make it silt, but according to doc, if blcr module is not loaded, the feature
is not available and this should be harmless except the fact that any attempt
to hibernate the process will fail.

I'll try to check the docs to see if there is an elegant way to have blcr
support as optional without warning messages.

Cheers.

Objet : [Oscar-users] Disabling BLCR

As part of the installation process for Oscar I selected to install the BLCR
package for future use by users. The output from jobs running on the cluster
now contain the following message:

Failed to initialize BLCR.: Function not implemented

though the jobs keep running. I have checked the installation of blcr and have
noticed the blcr kernel modules are not loaded, the blcr server is not started
and when it starts output an error about unable to load kernel modules. At this
stage I wish to just disable the function within torque so that it's not called
and the message above is not displayed, is there a way of doing that?, that
doesn't involve restarting the cluster. Or do I simply remove the rpms?

Thanks
