Their whole argument was based on:
  1. Linux desktops are not as dumbed down as MS Windows
  2. People NEED to use proprietary software to be productive
  3. Proprietary software are still more innovative that FOSS
  4. There is nobody that provide quality FOSS support.
Sadly many people buy into this junk reporting because they either feel intimidated that something that is free as in cost and freedom can do as well and better that the hugely expensive proprietary stuff they bought. So it's something to show to the bosses that says,"Hey ZDNET says Linux sucks, so it must be true!!".

The whole IT industry is turning to something that is consisting of solely idiots who gawks and worship sleek UIs. Never mind that your freedom gets squashed in the process.

People who still defend Vista and Windows 7 as the pinnacle of desktop OS achievements are just sad. In the older days, people fight to remain free from being yoked, now may are willing yoke themselves, to the extend of committing "software piracy"  just to satisfy their enslavement fetish!

Got this in my inbox today :

Linux has failed to win either mind share or market share on the desktop. GoogleÂ’s Chrome OS will do little to change that. Learn why.
