Dear Myfrens, Actually, I'm in MOE already 8 years, include awareness to OSS. Frankly, you cannot simply push OSS to school with drastic movement. 1st, you need to tackle on awareness for each school or if you good enough, can convince PPD to involve. If we want go nego or request to highest level, in here MOE itself, you will upset and maybe take a long journey. I already try it for many years.
So, this year I try new movement/ method. I meet IT Administer / school IT lab administer, especially in SeK Menengah which now there are OSS silibus in IT subject. And then you said you want to held OSS talk in 2 hours or more, depend on you. You can request during Hari Kantin, Hari ICT or anytimes. And, for the cost, usually the PIBG will pay but you cannot expect much. I'm doing talk for free, but the PIBG still give me some for fuel. I only talk history of Linux, talk about Ubuntu, Edubuntu, Alice, and OSS carriers. Suddenly, after that talk, I got one projek in OSS for that school. The whole project cost 9K, but I make it in two phase, 5K and 4K. Just sharing to get you more interesting doing OSS awareness. Thanks.
