CL Chow,
You call this a rant?! You disappointed me! :)
Well i just got some cheer cos my post is published at that blog as the 11th response.
I attributed our sad state of affairs to politics of corruption and cronyism. Last week i was indirectly invited to have dinner in PICC where some MDec so called Creative Awards nite was happening. I saw an aquantance the VP of MDec there but avoided him as i am tired of meeting such characters (details removed as its not even qualified for Wikileaks *sniggers*).
I was there to meet Thai delegates who wanted to see me about FOSS. We were trying our best to discuss but the mad music on the stage that has no resemblance to any creativity that we Malaysians are proud of. In fact it even came out on TV3 and thousands should have seen that it was a sheer waste of money. Some copycat ill prepared rap dance, lots of blasting out of Western tunes and we do not see anything further beyond the old Saladin (bloated multi million dollar spending) project and Les Copaque. Well you can say that our country is spending all the last kopek from our koceks.

I can't believe these nonsenses are even allowed, but look at the state of hackers now, where have we gone, what have us achieved, we do more things but we are taken for granted most! (I don't think any parents want their kids to be hacker too)

Yes, I ranted.

I have tried but failed to drum this in that if we train our young to be great in Oracle and MS, there is a pull factor to leave (plus push factor due to wanton corruption here in Malaysia to give them an even chance to make it).

But that is what MDec does best. Take off-the-shelf training packages rather than figure out its own curriculum.

Disagree? Please reply in a civil manner.
