Hi Juergen,
Just another data point, I built the OSELAS toolchain and built the 2440 BSP on 
a CentOS 6 and Fedora 14 64-bit platforms yesterday.  Both were successful.  
Which leads me to believe there is something unique going on with the gcc 4.7 
release used in Fedora 17.
