is there a way to call js without a sound? can be ie only

i would really like using the jsproxy or other ways to communicate
between flash and js.
but i cant do it the way id like.
javascipt calls from within flash are possible with getURL.(fine ... but)
getURL will make a sound (like when clicking on a link) in iexplorer
with standard system config.
the project is ie only. i want to do the server communication with flash
and most of the ui with js - that will result in a click sound every second.
no user stays for long on a site with so many click sounds.
