Nicely said Aral. I will add that OSFlash is also about freedom of information. Pattents, NDA, lawsuit threats, ... are today common ways for big companies to protect their business. Such behaviors are preventing small companies and individuals to access to a good level of information on technologies, and then are preventing innovation and new ideas from being developped or spreading. Trying to restrict the sharing of information is really a shame for humanity and scientific spirit, and the opensource movement is a good answer to that. It's not about evangelism of a particular view, it's just that OS people are sure that by sharing more information and enabling more people to access a given technology, you are enforcing this technology and not weakening it. What's happenning with MTASC already supporting Flash 8 could be see as eventually threatening the businness model of Macromedia that is selling the IDE and having a free Player, but since most people might not be aware of MTASC, or doesn't know/want-to learn how to use it, they will still see the beautiful demos that we're producing and this will create an even bigger hype around Flash 8. As Aral, I feel proud to be part of the OSFlash community as I'm able to meet great people making great things and taking some of their time to help each other. My company don't get once eurocent of money back when I'm working on MTASC, but still they think it's a nice piece of work. It's not about money here, I just do feel better when I'm coming back home at night and can think that some part of my work today might help people. I feel I'm doing the right thing, that the whole OSFlash community people are doing the right thing, and that we're heading the right way.
