My CSS proposal was to extend the layout using a fixed 980 pixels so it
display nicely on 1024 resolution even with left scrollbar and still we can
see a little the L/R gradients. I think it could be nice to have a fixed
width since it will display the same whatever the client resolution.

In the CSS there was also some other changes like smaller caps for the left
menu, remove the boxes of internal links and no extra letter spacing for
menu and content titles since it degrades readability.

Maybe Aral can send it to you and we can have a look at what would be better
? I really the like new design but imho there is a little loss in
readability compared to previous one.
