Well MTASC is open source, so there's no reason why someone else can't make a
version that does compile AS3.  But I have to agree with you Claus, this is very
disappointing.

This is a drastic difference from the original mission of MTASC in keeping as
compliant to the ActionScript that Macromedia makes and the one that MTASC
compiles as possible.

Austin also makes a good point that now people will not be able to have the
choice to compile with one versus the other. Clients are not going to like that.
What if MTASC changes their mind again?  This is very problematic.

The good news is some other smart people can put together an open source AS3
compiler themselves.

as much as i like innovation, this very most likely means the sudden
death of DENG.
