This is a free country. Well Ok I am in America which is relatively free, but that is besides the point.
No one is forced to do anything. I am not in charge of anything. Just one voice. But my point is that presumably you do these projects because you wish to build a community. You wish to do good. You wish to have your work seen and understood. I believe sometimes people get so caught up in the "coolness" of what they are doing that they do not stop to think about *how* they are communicating and whether it will achieve their goals. Of course if the goal is not to build a community of users then why post. But if it is, it seems to me useful for people, who may not think much about communications, to hear, in detail, why what they are doing is not as effective as it could be. In truth most everyone here is a programmer. As someone who has managed many programmers in my life (as well as being a programmer), I can say that often quality communications is not at the top of the list of a programmers priorities. But when building an open source project which you hope people will adopt, some effort at decent communications is, in my opinion, useful.
