Sorry, I missed Cinelerra's URL
One quick disclaimer: I know that there are windows based tools that might have slicker interfaces than some of these tools but they will not run on multiple platforms. I also find it tremendosly gratifying when I am able to put all these great tools together to accomplish what the Windows world pays thousands to do! Would there be a call for Tutorials that would explain how exactly I put these tools together? If so I would love to start a series of tutorials that build in order to teach basic to advanced opensource techniques. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// See FAMES tutorial on OSFlash for detail on the following: //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Eclipse -- IDE http://www.eclipse.org/ MTASC -- Compiling actionscript http://www.mtasc.org/ ASDT -- Actionscript plugin for Eclipse http://sourceforge.net/projects/aseclipseplugin/ NOT OPEN SOURCE --> Flashout -- viewing SWFs in Eclipse http://www.potapenko.com/flashout/ SWFmill -- Importing SWF, PNG, JPG into Library for attaching http://www.potapenko.com/flashout/ //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Cinelerra -- video editting (Wierd interface but very powerfull. Prepare to drop your cpu and RAM to it's knees! Recommended 2 P4s and 2 Gigs or ram) http://heroinewarrior.com/cinelerra.php3 Gimp -- Photo Editing (I could not have done my work without it.) http://www.gimp.org/ Grokking the Gimp: A must read book available for free reading on the net. This was the book that got me started on graphic design. http://gimp-savvy.com/BOOK/index.html Blender -- 3D, video (WOW! What a great tool and to be able to interate it's results into Flash!) http://blender.org/cms/Home.2.0.html transcode -- for multiplexing of MPGs http://www.transcoding.org/cgi-bin/transcode mencoder -- to convert MPGs to AVIs http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/news.html ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// The following is a set of tools that are used to author flash. I use them in sync with MTASC al the time. ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// http://www.swftools.org/ avi2swf -- converts AVIs to SWF video wav2swf -- converts WAV files to SWF sound jpeg2swf -- converts JPGs into SWF gif2swf -- converts GIF into SWF swfc -- I will use this to create slide shows that I import into MTASC with SWFMill There are many more tools in this package but these are my favourite. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// vncrec and vnc2swf -- (I use this tool with others to simulate breeze functionality.) Screen capture that can be imported into movie http://www.unixuser.org/~euske/vnc2swf/ http://www.sodan.org/~penny/vncrec/ inkscape -- vector drawing for logos and stuff (I really like this program) http://www.inkscape.org/ audacity -- all sound editing http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ potrace -- bitmap tracing to vector http://potrace.sourceforge.net/ AnimationPackage (Awesome package for people with no Flash IDE or tweening class access due to Flash not running in Linux. I was able to help debug this project to get it running in MTASC, so I have a bias :) Alex has done great work on this one.) http://www.alex-uhlmann.de/flash/animationpackage On December 11, 2005 06:03 am, Steven Gong wrote: > On 12/11/05, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I thought I would take a second or so to share with the community some of > > the > > tools I use for open source Flash development.
