Has anyone noticed on the mobile devices page http://www.macromedia.com/mobile/manufacturers/ at the bottom it says 'Macromedia Flash Player 7 for Windows Mobile 2003'? I almost fell off my chair when i read that, but it turns out to be a typo. Dang

If you go to labs.macromedia.com and get the preview Flash Lite
authoring extensions, it includes free download of the mobile player
from the Store.

A developer may have already purchased a capable phone, so they need
access to new Players. But consumer installations start racking up
massive support costs, so there's a nominal charge to deter consumers.

For consumers the goal is embedded ubiquity which, because of
manufacturing cycles, takes longer than getting early standalone
releases to developers.
