For rapid prototyping I'd probably choose amfphp or coldfusion. Nothing is rapid in Java, and I've never heard of "python-amf". If it's last years alpha port of AMF::Perl to Python then I'd stay very far away from it. It is possible to use TurboGears and flashticle to do remoting with Python, and it's probably good for rapid development, but I just wrote that code last weekend and I haven't tried it for anything but the trivial stuff.
