BTW, I think the reason I felt ASWing was the one to look at first was simply as it had some screenshots/tutorials/swfs to try. I hope the other authors can try to get to generating at least an SWF that shows off what can be done. I did some search on Openstep vs. Swing, and generally openstep seems to have a better reputation. But much of the anti-Swing sentiment was to do with JVM-incompatibility problems when trying to distribute a swing app (which ties into the current gnash thread :-).
