Impossible?
Get yourself on the
Red5 mailing list, I dont feel I know the project well enough to answer any
of your questions myself but you are more likely to get the answers you need
on there.

Impossible?
Hello all! This post to this
particular mailing list is regaurding the Red5 Project, and those who are
willing to share what they know :) I am have put roughly 30+ man hours into
creating a rich application for managing a radio station, much akin to the
program SAM, and for this, I was going to use FMS2 to accept the audio signal
from the flash RA. Now, I simply assumed that FMS2 would be another wonderful
macromedia product like Coldfusion and the Flash Platform. However, I was
sadly mistaken, as FMS2 turned out to be not only a black box, as a black box
I can deal with, but it was a daunting abyss box. Blacker than black black
box. So, interested in Red5, but aware of its current development status, I am
now posing the following question:
Can RMTP be transcoded into MP3 or
OggVorbis or otherwise and sent to an OSS platform such as QTSS/DSS or
Icecast/Shoutcast ?
I ask this question because I need to find a way
for flash to upload a sound file (an RTMP payload?) and have it save somewhere
on the server. Either for direct streaming to shoutcast, or for enqueing in a
shoutcast playlist? This is my one dillema. I do not know how to move audio
from Flash Player to the server.
I currently have Coldfusion 7.1,
which has flash remoting. Is there any way
at all to get audio from flash player to somewhere on the
server?
Thanks guys! :)
