The above lists seem to be more of a project description than a
category. What I would suggest is categorizing the projects according
to their use in a developer's workflow.

Here's a list with some example projects:

Frontend [for widgets, GUI components]: BBC OSFlash, Fludge, fosFORO

Flash Tools [for low-level stuff, eg. code generation, display,
conversion] eg hamtasc, FlashDevelop, mxml editor, asigen, swfmill

Testing [for debugging, testing, running swfs]: Xray, mtasc unitTests, JavaFlash

Backend + Glue: Red5, SabreAMF, JavaFlashBridge

Frameworks: ActionStep, AsWing, Fling, pixlib

Wildcard [=p]: FC64 emulator

Multiple listing of a project under different categories should be
avoided, since it shows that a project is trying to be too many things
and not specific.
