Hey,

I'm one of those lithium-lick , so i dunno if i'm allowed to answer
(using macs since the beginning, and perhaps forever :) ). But i'll
do it anyway :D :

I would say that the mac comes with Xcode, and the Dell PC doesn't...
It's a really great programmation environment, that has really great
features when used with mtasc. (for example it points you directly to
the line of the class where you have a compilation error and things
like that.

If you don't want to play with windows (but why the hell would you
play when you can code :) ) Parallels is the best solution imho.
But if you buy the mac an plan to use parallels regulary, you'll need
to add the windows license price to the price of your macbook... ;)

As said before, RAM is really important on a mac, especially if you
want to use some rosetta (PPC emulator for intel macs) applications
(like adobe softs, which are always only PPC-native).

The mac & mac os X is actually imho the most confortable solution for
everyday computer working, apart if you are a server admin, when in
this case you could really prefer linux.... (but there are mac linux
distributions :p ) So as it is the only hardware that offers you
the possibility to run so much different systems, it's surely the
better solution.

Oh and if you buy a macBook, don't forget to take the 3-years
appleCare, it's a real good choice if you plan to keep your mac for
more than 1 year and if you use it often (i mean more than 1 hour per
day...)

Cheers,
Thibaut
