Hi Ken, There is a lot of interesting work being done in the Ajax world around the idea of "progressive enhancement". Take a look at Hijax by Jeremy Keith, etc.
Ajax is not a trend. Flex/Flash is not a trend. They're both viable technologies for creating rich-client web applications.
