I think that it's reverse engineering is precisely /why/ they have /no
choice/ but to be cool with it. I-am-not-a-lawyer, but AFAIK RE is OK,
especially for protocols, and especially in the EU.

You don't think Microsoft 'is cool with' Samba, do you? :)
