Well, DataGrid is not an open source topic, unless you were to liberally apply an extremely loose definition because the Flex SDK has been opensourced. But that's like saying Office Space was a serious documentary about Michael Bolton. I see my question about the Data Grid is on that list. I thought since we were discussing open source flash that it would be okay asking a question related to open source flash tools. The vast majority of the tutorials out there speak about using the Official Flash IDE and I'm not using anything but FlashDev and the SDK so I thought there might be some special way to use the tools together. I'm still really new to flash/flex as a whole. To answer your question, I'm okay with whatever the list as a whole decides. I find it enjoyable overall to have a discussion with like minded people, even if we're not 100% on topic all of the time. Seems there are several on this list who don't understand what this list was set up for. If everyone's cool with that, I am - but there are plenty of other lists out there for these kind of questions. I myself am guilty of responding to general flash questions here and there, but I think if we respond to people, instead of diverting them to a more appropriate list, they will keep coming back for more. Do we want to allow this or no? For those of you on this list who didn't realize this list was intended for open source questions related to the Flash platform (hence the name), no worries, but I would suggest you subscribe to one of the following lists instead: Flash_Tiger on Yahoo Flexcoders on Yahoo Flashcoders on chattyfig.figleaf.com Flashnewbies on chattyfig.figleaf.com Adobe forums, Flashkit, Actionscript.org, etc. For the other people here interested in Open source flash topics, what are your thoughts?
