Also no 64 bit support on libconv ( on windows at least ), which is
biting me at this time

As BTW libconv is required for COLLADA/LIBXML

Arggg... not another dependency....

Since posting I've wonder if perhaps src/osgText/String.cpp's own
UTF16/UTF8 support might be useful here.
