Good point, might be better to derive from trackball and call it something else 
- any ideas?
The point was simply that my users get confused when they move something, 
especially with the throw, and it's easier to orientate yourself if you know 
which way is up.

I work on GIS type apps so there is always a real idea of North, East and UP. 
Another thing I did start was being able to set home() to be front, side, top 
etc. The version in the code isn't quite right - I think the viewer and 
manipulator are fighting each other.

I am going to be away for a couple of weeks so I can't look at it now.
