Thanks Terry, I'm sure the original author of this code had their reasons, but I'm with you interpolating in the same colour space as OpenGL makes more sense for osgText. I'm also more than happy to see osgText become a little simpler as it's ended up way over complicated for the level of flexibility and quality it provides. So I've merged and checked in your changes.
