Thanks Stephan and Thomas.  Changes now merged and submitted to
svn/trunk.  The only tweak I made was to RenderStage.cpp where it was
assuming the osg::State would always have a valid GraphicsContext.
This isn't always true so I added a check.  Cheers, Robert.
