HI Kristofer,

I have just done a merge of your changes but found that the osgscalarbar
example no longer renders as it did before, with the original looking more
correct.  I haven't looked into the cause of the regression.  When merging
I made a few changes to keep things building (I have disabled the ref_ptr<>
automatic type conversion so it catches places where a ref_ptr<> is passed
as a C pointer), attached is my modified version of your ScalarBar.cpp. As
there is regression when applying the changes I won't be merging it as is.
 Feel free to re-submit once the problems are ironed out.
