Hi Linh,

related only to your ERROR:

ERROR 6: Unable to load PROJ.4 library (libproj.so), creation of
OGRCoordinateTransformation failed.

What you have is a version of GDAL built against PROJ dynamically so
that at runtime GDAL will attempt to load PROJ when neccessary. The
libproj.dll must be on your PATH. Usually if GDAL.dll is loaded ok then
a variant of libproj.dll will be alongside it. Did you build GDAL with
PROJ.4 support yourself or are you using a bundle that may have been
pre-built without PROJ.4 support which is very possible?

I have GDAL 1.4.1 on Windows built with PROJ.4 (Vista x64 SP1 MSVS2005)
When I run gdalinfo I get the exact same as Robert:

 >gdalinfo DEM_1m_VictoriaCrater.tif -mm

GDAL: GDALOpen(DEM_1m_VictoriaCrater.aux) succeeds as HFA.
GDAL: GDALOpen(DEM_1m_VictoriaCrater.tif) succeeds as GTiff.

I don't have VPB build here so can't help you any further.

Cheers,
