I think they mean VS2005 SP1, not Windows XP SP1 - so SP1 for the compiler, not the OS. Check the Microsoft site. It's essential to have VS2005 SP1, otherwise you'll get weird crashes in debug mode, since the binaries Mike compiled were built with VS2005 SP1.
