Hi Robert, No, not in a parallel universe! I wrote "Winxp *and* on an Octane". Perhaps a more accurate description would have been:
WinXp on a PC and (separately) under IRIX 6.23 on an Octane. Anyway, your comments did the job. I understand the difference between setCamera and addSlave now and it works like a charm.
