Errr.... because it's fun :-) There is also a chance that this year I might be commissioned to add video conferencing capabilities to Present3D. Right now I can stream a stereo web cam into a Present3D presentation thanks to the new ffmpeg plugin. Another step will be to use ffmpeg to record video from Present3D, functionality that most likely will be done via the core OSG. Streaming will require some extra 3rd party libs/infrastructure of which I haven't investigated yet - but while once the video conferencing project looks like it's going ahead. Whether any this video conference capability might be available in Present3D for the Paris user meeting is another matter, all depends upon the timing of the project and the timing of the user meeting.
