Hi guys,

Yes, I wanted to first just change the hd controller, so to use the slap trick.
However, I wasn't able to find the same hd on any of the online stores. So this
wasn't an option any more. Therefor the only options left, were either to send
the disk to some data recovering company or to try it on my self with the
freezer.
The recovering companies would take around 800-1000 Euros, so this wasn't an
option either :). So, feeling that I have already almost nothing to loose, I
decided to put the hd into refrigerator. Sounds crazy, but seems to help.

@Martin, Pierre:
Thank you for your suggestions. Our hoster gives us now a 100GB backup FTP
space. So it seems the hoster provides an extra backed up ftp server, which I
will use to make the backups. Even more we are now using both hard drives as
RAID-1 . So the risk of getting again a crash might be not so high anymore.
However, I would still like to take advantage of backing up the forum to your
servers. I first have to setup a backing routine to the FTP and afterwards I
will drop you a line and ask if you can help me in setting up a backup on your
drives. OK?

Cheers,
art

Thank you!

Cheers,
Art
