Hi Sebastian, I can't help much directly but to debug things two things that might be useful are first up to up the OSG_NOTIFY_LEVEL env var to DEBUG to see what files and paths are being tried - there is a chance that the external files aren't being found for some reason. Second suggestion is to output your files to .osg and then inspect the file references and distances by hand to see if they all make sense.
