The model placement is a feature that was a possibility for later implementation, but so far we haven't yet implemented, and I don't present have any dev plan for adding it before I tag VPB-1.0. I'll tag the 1.0 once OSG-3.0 is out the door. For model placement most users will be post processing the database to insert the models that require, or doing this at runtime.
