Hi Ulrich, Thanks for the answer. Shortly before your answer I found out I could try the istringstream, but I still can't get it to work. The direct conversion is not working out of the box for me, it might be related to the string not being correctly generated (png crashes, jpeg gives a "Corrupt JPEG data" pop up).
