At a high level the OSG state is managed in way that is relatively self contained without state bleeding out from one operation to the next. In your particular usage pattern it might not be the 100% most convenient thing for the OSG to do, but what you are doing is very niche, the OSG can't handle everyone niche requirements in the more effortless way, such a utopia is an impossibility.
