Hi Robert
Hi Sebastian,

I don't feel the OpenSceneGraph project needs more none core internal libraries and applications, it's rather overflowing as it is.
Okay, I see your point, and a second thought makes me agree.

I don't believe VirtualPlanetBuilder being separate is a hurdle for contributors. The main problem with VPB as it is is that I have quite a bit of work on my plate so haven't the chance to wrap up and tag VPB-1.0. Others are welcome to help push this side forward by having write access to the VPB repository, access does come with responsibility though.
Currently I'm building a chain based on it, so there might be some submissions from my side. But I don't feel quite qualified to manage the repository. Frankly there are some things to do in VPB which are out of my sphere of knowledge (like using archives).

Cheers
Sebastian

Cheers,
Robert.

    Hi Robert, hi community,

I was thinking about the separation of VPB and OSG. I feel like it
would not harm too much if it was integrated in the OpenSceneGraph
    repository more directly.
As the only real dependency is GDAL it could be built
conditionally. Bringing to the "core" would maybe help to further
develop it, as it is a slim implementation .

    What do you think?

    cheers
