I haven't test 3.4.0 against COLLADA DOM 2.4.0 so can't say for sure whether one should expect it to work, my guess is that OSG-3.4.0 came before DOM 2.4.0 so wasn't tested against it. You can't future proof software for changes in 3rd dependencies so problems like this do arise from time to time. It's probably best to just update to 3.4 branch.
