Are you looking at the osg site or the nps site?  The nps site is more current 
- should work fine with 1.0.  http://www.nps.navy.mil/cs/sullivan/osgtutorials/.

Hi Abhinandan,

It looks like this NPS tutorial is out of date and needs updating.
osgGL2 is pre 1.0.  It should be possible to port it to 1.0 or 1.1
quite easily.  Perhaps either the author or a member of the commuity
can pitch in.

Alternatively have a look at the OSG examples, there are number of
GLSL examples, and OpenSceneGraph-Data has a few as well - look for
the *_glsl.osg files
