Hi Zach,

I can't speak with the authority of others on this thread but I do notice FWIW that:

With vertical sync off, my framerate jumps around a lot with paging trying to happen (obviously) and vertical sync on, its fairly sweet.

However...

I can't speak for Linux but currently on windows (1.1.1 RC1), running a non-fullscreen osgviewer with a paged dataset, I experience consistently low (and erratic) framerates, even when there is no paging happening. I don't know the inner electrics of it but somehow turning stats on smooths it all out again for some reason. This condition seems independent of vertical sync settings.

OT: I came across these trying to fathom why SLI would limit my framerate by dividing the refresh rate by number off rendersurfaces/windows. Turning vertical sync off let me have a few more frames than 20 with more oomf to stay up as well (suggesting performance was almost scaled as well as divided?). I guess the drivers are not really designed for my clutzy fingers yet ;)
