Sebastien,

I have encountered the problem that you described and agree with your
analysis. It seems to me that the plugin needs to take account of the
accumulated stateSet in force at the time the geometry is encountered in the
tree. A material or texture could be set on any node above the current geode
and/or in the stateSet in each geometry in the geode.

Andy/Mark what do you think on this?
