Screenshot is impossible, however you may be right about trying to fix it breaking it more. I will look into some other examples, it’s just that this one almost works, but then again so did the previous one.

cow.osg is in the OpenSceneGraph-Data distribution, you'll find a link to it from the openscenegraph.org download pages.

cube.osg isn't a standard OSG example that I can test against, so I'd appreciate it you could try the cow.osg and take a screenshot.

I am using setSceneData, but I had to add my own version of that one as well for some reason, because when I try to use the one that should already be there it doesn't work.

I can only imagine that something has been broke and the attempts to fix have take you further away from things functioning as they intended.

I've recommend trying the other osgsimpleviewer examples.
